"No" Rehearsal
The Intent
Subtraction remains pointless if you do not have what it takes to actually subtract. Through the "No" Rehearsal, you build the practical skill of declining what does not serve, preparing you to protect what truly matters.
The Practice
Identify a handful of common requests you receive that drain your energy, time, or focus or is in conflict with your priorities. For each, write a simple, concise, and firm refusal script that declines the request. Rehearse these aloud until they feel natural. When the request appears, do not hesitate to use the script, and observe the result.
The Insight
The ability to say "no" is what protects your time and energy for what is vital the most out of all. This rehearsal is the guardrail that helps you preserve your focus and energy for your goals.
